Vice President & COO
In her capacity as COO Christine oversees day to day operations in regard to acquiring and liquidating donations. She is responsible for developing and implementing policies and procedures to insure compliance with all federal & state licensing, laws and security regulations pertaining to donor & customer private information. She works closely with the charities to fulfill all contractual obligations and creatively finds ways to meet their needs while making sure the donors get the fullest tax benefit possible from their donation.
Christine Lafreniere came to Helping Hands of America in 2002 as a part time Saturday clerk while working at Philips Components in Slatersville, RI as a senior administrator for 31 years. In 2003 she made the move to full time as the operations manager of Helping Hands and then in 2010 upon retirement of one of the partners she was promoted to Vice President/Chief Operations Officer. Christine completed courses at Bryant College (now Bryant University) in microcomputer and software applications, export compliance workshops, ethics training and ISO 9000 implementation. She resides in North Smithfield, RI with Tom, her husband of 45 years. Together they are parents to two married daughters and have four grandchildren.
