In 1999, we were contacted by Mr. John Oliveira, President of ABC and was asked if Helping Hands of America would also represent them with our Auto/Boat donation program. We spent a lot of time learning about their programs for the visually impaired and how much they were doing with the limited funding they had at the time. We have been partnered ever since.

The Helping Hands’ vehicle donation program allows supporters of the Association of Blind Citizens to truly make a difference in the blind community.

I would like to thank you, for providing me with a 50% grant, for (Jaws) software. You made it possible for me to get the software. I was in great need of it. I’m so excited, I can’t wait until I receive it. The software is going to enhance my education (reading, etc.) and I will finally be able to use my computer. A new world will be opened up for me, and I will have a better way to expand my education and an easier way. Again I would like to thank everyone with all my heart who played a role in giving me the donation (grant).
